I knew we were in for a treat this week from the moment I hopped on the bus to head over to the house. We were treated to an ongoing, one sided commentary about Funny car racer "Big Daddy" Don Garlits by a fellow on the bus whose sole words, repeated at 30 second intervals, were "...not Don Garlits..." ad infinitum. I really wanted to hear the conversation going on in his head. We arrived with a smile on our faces. In an attempt to have an accurate census of the evening, Bryna Bank and Mister 3D stood by the door with a clipboard and did a head count throughout the evening. At last count we had 99 attendees!!! Surely one of the largest TNDs so far. It was packed to say the least.
The usual suspects were running about chatting on the space bar or web surfing. Dan and Zoe were hanging out in the kitchen, Tricia was all over the place making sure things were working smoothly, and of course, Vagabond Jim was surfing away. A few folks not seen in some time also stopped by. Alita Holly, lately in Paris with Giamma and Mara, was wandering about for much of the evening.
MsWiggles returned home from a visit to the family in icy Milwaukee just in time to warm up to hot stew and a telnet session with Pine. Can't be out of touch too long, you know. She hit a few raves while in the Midwest. Check out a report in Anonymous. Mister 3D kindly met her at the airport to bring her straight to the house for dinner.
Of course, this is the MacWorld Expo week. Mark Gavini brought a bag full of software and CD's to dinner. Games galore. We may have to do that more often.
She of the strangely appropriate name, Wanda Webb, acted as our Guest Swabmaster during the early part of the evening. Getting those dishes washed is really important and helps to make the morning cleanup tolerable. Thanks Wanda. A big thanks goes out to Sonic, Dr. Cheez, and Bryna for pitching in towards the end of the evening to finish off the cleaning chores left unattended.
